Say Bye Bye to Bugs with One Kings Lane

Summer is here and now is a great time for outdoor entertaining but bugs can often ruin a great party!

Outdoor entertaining is one of the great joys of spring and summer. Until, of course, the bugs invade. In place of spray and pesticides, try a cluster of mosquito-repelling potted plants. Grouped together near a seating area on your deck or patio, they make a pretty and lush addition to your outdoor landscape while also protecting you and your guests. Check out One Kings Lane’s article Easy Update: Mosquito-Repelling Potagerie for more information about how a trio of lush potted plants will have you saying good-bye to bug spray.

Some of these beautiful potted plants would be great additions to my city balcony to keep the bugs away on damp summer evenings. And they are so beautiful! Now if I only had a green thumb so I won’t kill them!

This is very interesting and something I’m going to look into! The bugs, especially the mosquitoes are horrible here in Manitoba! Thanks for the info!

Those plants look great. I hate always spraying the yard and myself with chemicals that aren’t safe. This is perfect!

A friend recently gave me one of these wonderful Citronella plants & I absolutely love it! They have a fresh citrus (lemony) smell & every time you touch the plant or bump against it, the fragrance is released. If you plant directly in the ground, they can reach 3 ft tall and spread 2 1/2 to 3 ft wide! I keep mine in the pot & it is not winter hardy where I live, so I will be bringing it in for the winter. The Citronella plant is in the geranium family and produces pink flowers also. By all means, try this natural & beautiful insect repellant! You will be glad you did!
