Ecco Bella Review and Giveaway
I have complete lotion OCD. There, I said it. My husband laughs at me because I cannot function when my hands or my skin feels dry to me. It’s like my head goes up like a prairie dog and I know I have to go apply more. I’m not sure if it’s because I have insanely dry skin, or because I’m just a weirdo.
I was recently given the opportunity to sample two amazing products from Ecco Bella natural skincare. Ecco Bella was started out of protest against the testing on animals in the production of cosmetics, and its mission has expanded to the creation of products from the universe of organics and nutraceuticals.
As an activist company, we source ingredients from ethical suppliers of organic materials, and stay away from ingredients that may cause harm to people or the environment. We speak out on behalf of animals and the environment at every opportunity.
We never use animal testing or any ingredients created from animals, such as stearic acid, tallow, lanolin, dairy or collagen. We’ve been eagerly searching for alternatives to carmine, our only remaining animal ingredient. Carmine is derived from the cochineal beetle, and used in some pink colors.
Besides speaking out for animals and working to conserve the environment, we make products that help you conserve money. Every Ecco Bella skin care product provides both anti-aging and anti-blemish benefits.
Since I have extremely sensitive skin, and we are a dye-free household, it was important to me to know exactly what I WOULDN’T find in products from Ecco Bella:
“Our products are free of preservatives*, water, alcohol, talc, FD & C dyes, and any animal product (except carmine for pink colors). *Mascara and Natural Foundation are paraben-free and contain phenoxyethanol, a preservative also known as rose ether.” Awesome!
Organic Vanilla Herbal Body Lotion ($18.95)
The Hype: Our very first product! Nurture your skin with this 100% water-free body treatment. The rich, non-greasy formula relieves dry skin of irritation and flakiness for hours after other lotions have worn off. 70% Organic. Preservative-free. Water-free. Gluten-free. Vegan.
My Take: This lotion is tremendous! It smells authentically like vanilla, not an overpowering sugary sweet smell. It has a nice texture to it, not too thick or thin. I applied it after a shower and it had staying power all through the night until the next morning. Definitely loving this stuff!
Natural Deep Cleansing Gel ($24.95) — 4 oz.
The Hype: Preservative-free. For sensitive skin. 55% organic. This VitaminCell-enriched natural skin cleanser gel glides over your skin, leaving it cleansed, nourished, and silky smooth-without stripping or drying. Gluten-free. Vegan. Not tested on animals.
My Take: I used this to try to take my makeup off, and it worked fabulously. It smells lovely, and did a great job of removing every trace of makeup without drying my skin out. I’ve used it subsequently with and without makeup to be removed, and it works great either way. It leaves my skin soft and supple, not sad and stripped down like some other cleansers out there.
It’s giveaway time!
